• This spring Street Smart will be hosting nine Street Smart Safety Zone outreach events in partnership with local radio stations in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Traffic safety officials, advocates, and police departments gathered from across the metropolitan Washington region to launch the Street Smart campaign. With the recent time change and shorter daylight hours, campaign officials are urging drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists to be alert and look out for each other. The Fall 2011 Street Smart campaign kick-off event highlighted the Three Es - education, engineering and enforcement. Montgomery County displayed new curb markings; had bi-lingual education teams out; and showed a strong enforcement presence.
